Jackshaft Electric Openers
Overview
Jackshaft Garage Door Openers/Operators (Side Mount) are used on any door with a shaft, sprockets and chain as a driving element. They can be installed on high lift, vertical lift, but also on specially adapted standard lift sectional doors or rolling doors and grilles. Jackshafts are often used on Loading Docks and other applications where you can’t have an obstruction from a Trolley operator

Dodds’ electric openers include the latest safety technology: UL325 compliant with failsafe “continuously monitored” 24/7 safety features which include a 6″ Safety Photo Eye System in order to protect pedestrians.
Dodds provides an Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) permit and power shut-off disconnect switch on every new installation of our Electric Openers.
The Electric Overhead Door Openers are available in mechanical and logic/circuit board systems with different voltages and horsepowers. It is the “brain” or initiator that starts the process of opening and closing and is not the “muscle” that opens and closes the door. The “muscles” are the springs or counterweight system.
Vital parts of the Electric Operator/Opener System include the Timer which allows the door to stay open for a designated time period.
For sites that have security gatehouses and controlled entry, “7-day”and “Skip-a-day” Timers can be installed for busy traffic times in the morning and evening, therefore, markedly reducing wear and tear on all parts.
A Delay-on-Reverse feature allows the door to stop momentarily, for one second, when interrupted in the closing cycle thus preventing unnecessary jolting which causes wear and tear of door hardware and electric opener parts.
