Chain Drive is the most common type of garage door opener. Chain Drive electric openers are reliable, affordable and time tested in many installations. Chain drive door openers use a metal chain, like a bicycle chain, to open the garage door. Some very large, customized, garage doors are better served when installed with a stronger chain drive system than a belt drive system. LiftMaster garage door openers are manufactured by the same company as Chamberlain. The key difference is that LiftMaster openers come with a one-piece rail system connecting the electric opener with your garage door. This makes for a safer and more durable garage door opener installation.
